My name is Reiss, and I was once exactly where you might be right now. Unsure what to do next, feeling the pressure to go to university, but knowing deep down that the traditional path did not feel right for me.
I chose a different route. Instead of lectures and student debt, I packed a bag and left home. Over the next six years, I lived and worked across Europe, Asia and Australia, taking on seasonal jobs, hospitality roles and leadership positions in completely new environments. I learned how to adapt, communicate, problem-solve and lead, skills no classroom ever taught me.
That experience changed everything. I progressed into management roles abroad, built confidence through real responsibility, and when I returned to the UK, I did not start from zero. I stepped straight into senior roles and a few years later became COO of a tech company, all without a degree.
The biggest lesson I learned along the way is this:
You do not need a degree to build a great life. You need experience, confidence and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
That realisation is why I created Work Your World Academy. Not to sell dreams, but to give young people a clear, realistic roadmap for turning travel and work abroad into genuine life and career opportunities.
