Founder of Work Your World

Real stories from years of working abroad, not screenshots of bank balances.

Built from lived experience, not theory

“I worked my way across countries instead of going straight to uni and it changed everything.”

Hi, I’m Reiss, the founder of Work Your World. Instead of going to university, I fell into a world that nobody seems to talk about. I found real jobs that paid me to live abroad.

Those years abroad taught me more about confidence, money, communication, and direction than any classroom ever had. Not because education doesn’t matter but because experience gives you something to point your education at.

Work Your World is everything I wish I had at 18: clear options, honest stories, and step-by-step support from people who have actually packed a bag, got on the plane, and worked their way into a life they chose on purpose.

No fake urgency. No promise that you’ll be a millionaire in six months. Just grounded, ethical guidance for young people and parents, who want their next step to be brave and thought through, not rushed.

Experience-first career paths

Work abroad, travel with purpose, and build skills employers actually notice.

An experience-first path doesn’t mean “drop out and hope for the best”. It means using the world as your classroom: working real jobs in real places, learning how to handle money, people, and responsibility along the way.

  • Confidence from navigating new countries, cultures, and workplaces.

  • Independence from earning your own money and making real decisions.

  • Clarity on what you enjoy before you commit to a degree, career, or city.

  • Stories, skills, and references that set you apart on applications and CVs.

This is not a shortcut. It’s a smarter first step.

Work Your World gives you the structure, knowledge, and support to:

  • Find safe, legal ways to work and travel abroad.
  • Avoid common risks, scams, and “too good to be true” offers.
  • Talk openly with parents about your plans, without conflict.
  • Turn a gap year into a genuine career advantage.

Whether you end up in uni, full-time work, or building something on your own, this path is about giving you more informed choices, not closing doors.

The pressure to have it all figured out

You’re told there’s one “right” path. But it doesn’t quite feel like yours.

Stuck between options

Uni, apprenticeships, a job, a gap year. It feels like everyone expects you to know. But choosing for the sake of choosing isn’t the same as choosing what’s right for you.

Pressure without clarity

Parents, school, teachers, most mean well, but many only know one route: go to university now and hope it works out later.

Uni isn’t wrong, it’s just not the only way

University can be brilliant for the right reasons. But going because you feel you “have to” can leave you in debt, stressed, and still unsure what you actually want.
